| Tennis Player | |
| My family has always been sporty and plays mostly tennis. Growing up in this environment I was bound to play and was brought into the sport when we were on holiday in Spain. I saw everyone playing and I wanted to join in. | |
| I have been playing since I was 6 and played even a very little a bit earlier to this! | |
| My coach is Adrian Moll and my fitness trainer is Steve Green – Greg Rusedski's trainer and an Olympic athlete himself. | |
| My biggest recent achievements are:
I am currently ranked 17 in the UK . (U14) I have just been selected to play for the Kent girls U18 team. Jan 2010 I now have my first European ranking points! |
|
| For the future I would hope to train really hard so that I can represent Great Britain – especially in the Olympics! I also expect to play at Wimbledon. It is my dream to become a top World Player. | |
| My proudest moment was hitting with Naomi Cavaday (British top 10 player) and being able to keep up with her pace and also getting to the British Grand Prix Masters. |

| I have time out of school for training on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and I train at least 4 evenings then tournaments on the weekend. I have fitness 4 times a week too for an hour each session. | |
| The sponsorship money would mean that my coach could come and see me play away from Kent and other nearby counties. I would be able to get some new racquets and also be able to travel anywhere I want to in Europe and maybe even go further away to other tournaments. It will help with petrol and we could maybe stay in hotels more often when we're away. (We camp in the summer!). | |
| I am aiming very high and am doing my best to achieve my potential and my goals. I am an incredibly hard worker on and off court. I go to Invicta Grammar School and I am keeping up with my studies whilst training with their full support. I am lively bubbly and present myself in a confident manner. I am used to talking people about my tennis as my club, Bearsted LTC has taken a great interest in my progress as well as supporting me brilliantly. | |
| The players I like? Well - I played with Venus Williams and Andy Roddick at the Tower of London and she was really nice. I loved watching Kim Clijsters play and relate to her game style. I like Elena Jankovic because she plays like me! | |
| I would say to other sports people 'train how you want to perform, you may have to be very stubborn but it will pay off in time'. | |
| I enjoy the competitive side the best in tennis especially when we're in a team situation like the County Cup. | |
| I currently have some sponsorship from the Company my step-dad works for but it only covers a quarter of our expenses and will end this year. | |
| Any money would be brilliant but £3000 plus to replace the Kier sponsorship would be fantastic and appreciated and would enable the team; myself, coach, trainer, parents, grandparents, and my brother! (They all help out!) to continue training and performing at the right level.
I do feel very strongly that I want to continue to train in England because I have such a great social time with my friends at the tennis club and I love going to school. My coach is the best in Kent as well. I was born in Maidstone and brought up here - I don't want to go away to an academy in the UK or abroad that's why I'd love to represent Maidstone and Britain at the Olympics. |
