i work as a carer for an agency. i work in care homes around kent.
i love what i do and hope to become a fully qualified paramedic one day.
Trampolining, DMT,Syncronised trampoline
I was taken to both gymnastics and trampoline classes at the Black Lion Leisure Centre before I started school, so at about age 3 or 4. When the Jumpers Rebound Centre was built I transferred into there and within a short space of time I was asked to compete. I was then put into a ‘nifty nippers’ group and by the time I was 9 I was a grade 1 national level competitor
I’ve been regularly training and competing since about age 6 and I’ve been grade 1 since age 9 and have qualified for the British Championships every year since then. I started doing DMT at about the age of 12 and am currently a member of the GB squad
Martin Laws. I am also coached by Tamzin Reid, Mark Baker and Liz Laws. My DMT coach is Nick Earle
I have made the top 10 at Nationals on 3 occasions – my highest place being 6th. I came 3rd in synchronized trampoline with my partner Zoe Pounce at one British Championships. I have been British U15 champion for DMT and I have represented GB for DMT.
i recently came 2nd at the national championships 2009 in DMT.
i have just qualified for the GB team and am competing at the world championships in Russia which is in November.
to get to wolrds again next year and also europeans.
To join cirque du soeil.
My proudest moment has been when I competed for Great Britain in Sheffield. It was my first and so far only time that I have competed for GB and I felt very proud and I was just very happy to even be there, I went out and did my best. Our team had some problems because 2 of out team mates got injured on the competition days so we only had 3 people on our team. We did really well and came 2nd.

I train DMT one evening and all day Saturday and I train trampoline 4 evenings a week.
Gaining sponsorship money would take the financial burden off my parents, and increasingly myself, as the cost of going to competitions, particularly if they are abroad, is a strain.
I would say that all encouragement should be given to young people who are striving to do well. There needs to be so much more positive images of young people. I have a clear goal in both my sport and my career.
Shawn Johnson is my hero. She won the 2009 Olympic gold medal on balance beam in gymnastics. She has a very positive attitude and is always happy. She is a very good role model for young people as she is only 17 years old
Keep positive. It’s very hard and you will always have your bad days when training is the last thing you want to go and do. Power through as best you can and never give up
I enjoy keeping fit and the feeling you get when you have worked so hard, it’s an amazing buzz. I also have met some amazing friends that will remain friends for life and I love spending time with them both inside training, outside training and at competitions when we all support each other
i now have a sponsor which is PHSC, they are brilliant and are giving me money towards the world championships and also my training kit. they are a very good company to follow.
I feel that Trampolining and particularly DMT are under-represented sports that are not really known about. The profile of both sports needs to be raised because they are exciting spots to watch and the skills that high level performers compete are quite amazing. Anyone who watched the Olympic coverage would understand just how spectacular it is to watch. I was very privileged to train for a number of years with Gary Smith who represented GB at the Athens games
