Target Archery
My love for the Medieval period got me interested in longbows so I always wanted to try archery. After having a go at a fair I asked my parents if I could join a club to try the sport properly. They got me on a beginner's course for my 15th birthday and I haven't looked back since
8 years
Ron Simpson, Michael Brighton and Adam Kenyon.
Some of my greatest achievements include winning the Kent Championships 6 years in a row, the Grand National Archery Society Premier Event (our governing body's Olympic style event), being ranked 7th in the UK in 2008 and being recognised by the England head coach for my hard work and improvement in 2008
I want to become a perfect archer
My proudest moment so far has been when I received my first sponsorship pack, having other people believe in you brings an entirely different emotion into my sport
Sponsorship money would mean I would have more time to invest into training and competing rather than struggling to make ends meet. I would be free to analyse all aspects of my training and give them all an equal portion of time they deserve rather than cutting one or more aspects short
I would say to businesses that sponsoring an athlete would give them excellent advertising opportunities. With my sport, it has been proved that demonstrations and hands on events give more public awareness than newspaper advertising for example
My hero is Noami Folkard, Great Britian team member.
I would tell other sports people to use their time wisely and train specifically, not to just go and do their sport. I would also tell them to look into all aspects of their sport such as psychology, nutrition etc
I enjoy the feeling of doing a perfect shot, before you even release the arrow you know it's going for gold
I currently receive sponsorship from the Jeremy Willson Charitable Trust, Waterlands Garden Centre, N&W Beattie Construction Ltd., Aim4sport archery shop and of course FANS tier 2
