Trampolining and DMT
Started trampolining at a mother and toddler session. Been doing it ever since. DMT got involved in as I qualified for the World Age Games for trampoline and was allowed to enter for DMT as well
Started trampolining aged 2. Started DMT at age of 18
Trampoline Coach: Martin Laws DMT coach: Nick Earle
Biggest achievements for trampolining would be to qualify for the National Championships for the last 18 years running. Finished 5th in the Mens category last year. Have competed internationally for Great Britain on a number of occasions from 1999 onwards. For DMT am current national champion. Have been in the top 3 in the country for the last 10 years. Competed for Great Britain at World and European championships every year since 2001. Currently hold Team 3rd from the 2007 World championships in Quebec.
Trampoline: I want to be keep on competing at a highly competitive level and push for an Olympic place in 2012. DMT: Make top 8 individually at the World Championships 2009 and win National Championships 2009 - ACHIEVED!!!
My proudest moment was receiving my bronze team medal at the world championships and standing on the podium at the World Championships 2007
I train 2 hours every weeknight and 4 hours on a Saturday. Not including any gym sessions during the week (2-3 times)
Sponsorship money would mean I could compete at internationals that require a part payment from myself. It would also mean I travelling and staying at weekend long competitions would be much more viable for me as currently I struggle to pay for such necessities within my sport
Having a business sponsor me would benefit the company as well as me as I travel the country and world and would be able to represent them. International athletes such as myself often struggle financially to keep up with training and competition costs and with any support I believe I can raise the profile of my sport and also any company
Chris Hoy is my absolute hero. I believe his mentality on training is the same as mine. He believes that if you miss one session and don’t give your all you let yourself down and let others into the position you would have taken
I’d advise others to keep pushing themselves and give there all to anything they do. You can only be as good as you can push yourself. If you put in the hours are passionate and believe in yourself you can go anywhere!
I love the ability to perform skills that our bodies are not supposed to do. Being able to perform complex somersaulting and twisting skills gives me such a rush. I also love the friends I have made through my sport. I have managed to travel the world and met and made so many friends due to my sport
