The Maidstone’s Dream project is continuing to grow with another sponsorship deal – this time cross country runner Luca Russo. The youngster, who goes to St Simon Stock in Maidstone, is the fifth athlete to be given money towards his travel, training and equipment expenses.

Luca, 15, has been given £300 from the Kent County Playing Fields Association.

Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, Cllr Brian Moss, said: “What fantastic news, our fifth sponsorship in a matter of just a few months. A big thank you to all the businesses who have committed to athletes so far, and a word of encouragement should go to those who are yet to complete a deal.”
